Welcome to Sweet Tea and Giggles! My name is Janelle and I am originally from Ohio.  I relocated to Georgia for my company in 2003 and that is where I met my soul mate;  my wonderful husband Andy.  We were married in 2004 and now we have two beautiful children; Andrew and Maiya.  

When Andrew was born I became a stay at home mom, thus beginning a journey of a lifetime for me.  I knew that being a mother was not an easy job but I never knew just how fulfilling and rewarding it was at the same time.  When Maiya came along things definitely got more interesting and a little more challenging but I wouldn't change it for the world.

In November of 2009 I started Pink Hippo Boutique.  Pink Hippo Boutique specializes in children's party invitations and decorations. I have been selling on Etsy since November and had great success so I started my own website in March.  I am having a great time with Pink Hippo and it is such a great outlet for me.  I get the best of both worlds; staying at home with my kids and making some extra money on the side.

Now I am diving head first into the world of sewing.  Three years ago my wonderful mother in law bought me a sewing machine.  I had every intention on making things three years ago but life was just too busy and I never found the time.  Then my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer.  At the end of 2011 we got the news that the cancer had spread to her brain and liver and there was nothing more they could do.  Something made me get that machine out and sew.  I made a cute little pink ribbon skirt and brought it up to Ohio in February (2012)  when we went to visit my mom.  I was so excited to show her because my mom loved sewing and was very crafty.  My mom loved the skirt and was very proud of me.  Sadly she passed away later that week. 

I dedicate Sweet Tea and Giggles to my beautiful and courageous mom.  Who I miss more and more each day.
